Greece – Glyfada, Our Family’s Home Town

As a kid growing up visiting my family in Greece every year since the late 1980’s, I had no idea how lucky I was to have had theĀ opportunity to do so. My grandparents owned an ocean front hotel on the island of Methana, and waking up every morning to the beautiful blue sky over looking the ocean, it was truly an amazing experience. And then when it was time for them to retire, they sold the hotel and bought a couple buildings with several flats in a town called Glyfada, which is located next to Athens.

I have been visiting Glyfada now every year since the early 2000’s, and every time I go, I always take photos and videos of the places I visit in Greece other than Glyfada, and I figured it was time to do so. Unfortunately, my grandfather isn’t around today, but I know he’s up there looking down smiling at us. And I am truly blessed to still be able to visit my family every year.

One thing Greece is known for is the beautiful weather and paradise beaches. Out of all the years I have been going, it has rained a total of maybe 4 times! And this year it showed we where in for a nasty storm, which I was pretty stoked for, cause rain in Greece is definitely different than here in Florida, including the smell. But as we waited under the grey clouds rolling in, it never rained even a drop, which could be taken as it’s just like Florida lol.

This story isn’t about the all the beautiful paradise spots that most people refer Greece to, but more of showcasing the town my family reside in, and how fortunate I am to be able to continue to visit my amazing family. Family is everything to me, and as long as I am able to visit, I will, cause nothing is forever, and could be gone tomorrow. As the quote above states, ‘The family memories you create today, will be everything come tomorrow’.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the video of my family’s town in Glyfada, Greece!
