BubsFPV – 1st Attempts Flying FPV

You know that feeling you get when you see something that you think would be amazing to try? It’s the moment a new passion starts to begin, one that will probably cost you a good amount of time and money. It started one night as I was laying in bed watching YouTube videos before I passed out. As I was scrolling, a video popped up by a guy known as JohnnyFPV, and his amazing video was flying a drone through crazy landscapes, tiny spots, hot air balloons, upside down, etc. Things that none of my drones could do, so I had to know how!
After spending time researching learning the hobby, I was ready to purchase my first FPV (First Person View) type of drone, known more as a racing or freestyle quad. Since I was new, I wanted to start small and buy a simple beginners one. So I can learn and crash, and make sure I really enjoy the hobby. Well I finally made the purchase after finding the best affordable beginners quad, which was an Eachine Wizard x220!
After I finally got it all set up, I decided it was time to test it out, and as everyone says, it’s best to start off straight into Acro Mode, which is basically full manual control, so no auto balance, no stabalization, nothing but your fingers and the sticks. So I decided to record my first few flights so when I get better I can look back and remeber where I started at. Since I don’t have much free time, I dedicated 1 hour on the weekends to learn flying this quad. As the video shows, it definetly wasn’t easy, and had my heart beat racing, but I LOVED it!
But then it happened…what I feared most was loosing it, which happened on my 4th flight. I lost reception in the goggles and it flew into the woods. Spent hours and hours looking for it, until I decided to just buy a new one. But this time I also purchased a beeper that will sound when I need to find it, which has already payed for itself as those things tend to be hard to find, even in grass right in front of you!
All in all, I am loving this thing. I can’t wait to get better as I can only image the video shots I could get from it and how it will make my adventure and travel videos that much better!!
Stick around as I will be doing update videos of my progress as I get better at this new hobby, and would love to have you join me. Thanks for stopping by!
