Paris – Get to the Tower!

Are you the type of person that travels on a schedule down to the minute? I used to be, but when I started just going with the flow, I found I encountered more adventures and never stressed trying to get everything done. As we were heading to visit the fjords in Norway, we ended up finding the cheapest flight had a few hour layover in Paris, France. And of course there was no question on purchasing those tickets to take the chance of seeing the Notre Dame Cathedral and Eiffel Tower!

Unfortunately, right as we flew out, we heard the Notre Dame had just caught fire. It was truly a sad moment, what were the odds of that happening the day we were set to go see it. But the adventure had to continue. As we landed, we had to rush out with our bags and jump on a train. We had no idea which train to take, and when we asked, we got the best directions we could from people who spoke very little English, which was surprising, as I kind of figured most would in Paris, being a big tourist spot. Or maybe it was the fact that we were American, as I have herd they aren’t too found of us. But that was OK, to each their own.

As we got off the train, we were lost in the great city, and that’s when the adventure began. Finally realizing we passed our stop, which worked out better, we were able to see the Eiffel Tower from a distance, which meant we could walk through the area and explore Paris a little bit more! The city was beautiful, and the architecture was amazing, but when we got up to the tower, I noticed a couple things. First, I was impressed with how many locals were laying around, having a picnic, chit chatting, and enjoying the view, even when they get to see it daily. And second, I honestly thought it was going to be much bigger. The structure is just shy of 1,000 feet, but up close it did not seem that high. That is, until I popped the drone up. Which was a little nerve racking, as right when I got it in the air, I started to hear police sirens, and did not know if you could legally fly a drone there. But I did get some pretty amazing shots which was well worth the risk!

All in all, I’m glad we had the opportunity to explore Paris a little and see one of the seven world wonders, the Eiffel Tower! I hope you enjoy the photos and video that showed our journey getting to the tower, as it was quite an experience. And so now we head to the next adventure, on to Norway. Thank you for stopping by, and as always, live life and stay positive and my friends!
