Good Ol Texas Road Trip

“Let’s take a road trip to Texas!” It all started one day as my good friend was having a bar-b-que. We drank, we ate, we laughed, and we drank some more, the begining to most great stories! We then started to talk about our recent travels and he mentioned that he’s heading to Texas to visit some mutual friends and family next week. Now, I have driven through Texas a few times, but never actually explored around the state. So, a few drinks in he asked if I wanted to road trip with them instead of flying…and of course I couldn’t turn it down!

Fast forward to the next day, and I get a call to discuss all the details for our upcoming road trip in less than a week. Can’t lie, I honestly forgot we actually planned it! And by now he already had everyone excited that I was coming, so I couldn’t let them down, especially since he already booked everything including our rental.

The day finally arrived, and I’m sitting in front of his house at 4:30am, loaded up the rental and took off! It was a long ride, 19 hours to be exact with all the stops we made, but we finally got there about 11:30pm. And of course we couldn’t go straight to bed, so we went out for a drink before we called it a day lol.

Morning came, and we had a full weekend ahead, got the house ready for a birthday party, celebrated with new and old friends I had not seen in a while, they showed me around Texas, we ate at some great restuarants, etc. At one point I looked up things to do close by, and could not believe that we were only 30 minutes away from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre house, and I knew I had to go visit it, which everyone was totally down to go! Driving through the creepy looking town, we finally made it, which was gated with survailianc cameras everywhere and couldn’t get close, so I popped out the drone to get a better view, got some shots and then we saw cops so we decided to wrap it up and head back so no one would get into trouble.

After a few days of fun and excitement, we decided to go check out Downtown Austin for my first time! It was our last night so we all piled into a huge SUV and took off. I must admit, I thought Austin was going to be bigger, but being there reminded me a little of downtown Orlando. I wasn’t able to bring my camera since I knew we were probably going into bars/clubs that wouldn’t allow them….but I did sneak my GoPro in! Unfortunatlty the footage wasn’t good, but figured I could spare a few clips for the video.

Next came the early morning hangover and the sad goodbuys, as it was time to head back home, and yes that meant another 19 hour drive. All in all, it was amazing times spent with great people, and I would go again in a heart beat. Cause road trips with good friends creates great memories for a lifetime! Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoy the journy of our ‘Good Ol Texas Road Trip’ video!
